Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a safe, non-surgical procedure which is used to improve the appearance of thread veins and spider veins or to eliminate them completely.

Thread veins are little blue, purple or red veins that are visible just underneath the skin on the face and body. Although harmless, thread veins can be very unsightly and they may make you feel self-conscious – particularly if they appear in exposed areas, such as the face or leg. At Refreshed Love Aesthetics we can treat thread veins which appear on your legs.

The treatment involves injecting a sclerosant solution directly into the vein. This irritates the vein causing it to become inflamed and then reabsorbed by your body. The treatment has been well practised and has evolved over the last 150 years to ensure the best possible results for those with thread veins.

Aftercare advice:

• Wear compression stocks for 2 weeks to avoid blood re-entering the vein.

• Avoid heat on the treated area for 2 weeks - hot baths. sunbathing as the heat causes veins to dilate.

• Take a 30 minute walk every day for 1-2 weeks.
