Microneeding Collagen Induction Therapy

Microneedling involves the use of a special needling pen, this pen uses tiny needles to create “micro-injuries”. The micro-injuries create channels in your skin allowing hyaluronic acid serums used during your treatment and your own skin care to be most effective at penetrating the skin leading to overall better effectiveness. Whilst the thought of needles can be daunting this treatment is rarely painful.

The micro-injuries also work to stimulate the skin to repair itself naturally through a process called dermal remodeling.

The process of dermal remodelling starts with inflammation, this stimulates the skin to produce new collagen (the elastic fibers that make skin tight, smooth, and youthful). Collagen levels in the skin decline as we age, and new collagen can be produced when the skin is in repair mode.

Treatments can be repeated every 4 weeks to improve skin health and target specific skin concerns such as scaring. Through a series of sessions, microneedling will increase elastic skin fibers. Microneedling also helps the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin), which naturally thins with age, become thicker and tauter.
